God's Celebration of You

Updated: Nov 6, 2021

This verse is a powerful stick of spiritual dynamite. The phrase repeated in Genesis 1:31, “God saw all that he had made – and it was very good!” is very telling about God’s heart and what he actually thinks about you―yes, you.

The Hebrew word translated in this verse, hinneh, is a small grammatical particle used twice for vividness. It is usually accompanied by the physical actions of pointing and drawing attention to something.[i] It is much like when your little child draws something at school and in pride comes to you and says “Mommy, Daddy, look what I made!”

Except this is God pointing at his creation and proudly saying “look what I made!” The unstated reality is that you are the most significant part of that very creation he is joyfully celebrating.

God created his universe and displays it before us every second of every minute of every day. And you are at the very center of his creative act.

Don’t quit. Don’t give up.

God created you in his image. He celebrates your life, a life of value and purpose and meaning. God's Son Jesus Christ gave his very life on the cross in order for you (us) to have a personal relationship with him, receive the gift of indestructible eternal life, rescuing you from eternal separation from Him in hell.

He has you in his heart and he loves you.

We can come to know Christ through confession of our sins and repentance (turning away from sin). Let me encourage you to do this by talking to God through prayer. Here is an idea of how you might do that:

"Dear God, I believe your son Jesus Christ died in my place on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day following his death. I confess my sins, all of them, to you now with a humble heart. I repent of those sins and ask you to empower me with your Holy Spirit in overcoming further sin. Amen” If you prayed this or a similar prayer committing your life to Christ and becoming one of his followers, let me encourage you to find a good, Bible-believing church. If you live in the Weslaco/Rio Grand Valley area of Texas, let me invite you to the church I attend, Mid-Valley Assembly (www.midvalleyassembly.com).

Begin talking to God in prayer and reading the Bible daily. A good way to begin to read the Bible is to start with the Book of John in the New Testament. Feel very free in connecting with me if you need any further help in your walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. You can do this via the above email or facebook page or this web page.
