The Divine Chase: Responding to a Pursuing God by Ben Bounds

"In his nonfiction debut, Bounds tells his fellow Christians that they were intended from the beginning of time to enter into a dance of intimacy with God through the splendor of his creation, the wisdom of his word as revealed in the Bible, and the sacrifice of his son on the cross. Participating in this relationship is, according to the author, the whole sum and essence of Christian life... a bracing, scripturally literate call for Christians to enter the crucible of faith."

Kirkus Reviews

Ben Bounds’ book “The Divine Chase” so accurately and meticulously describes an amazing journey in discovering God’s constant pursuit of humanity. I like how Ben stresses the fact that God the Father is chasing hard after us more than we are looking for him. I love Ben's creative allusion to dancing with God. He calls it ‘God’s dance floor.’ The Lord has done everything possible to attract our attention and get us to dance with Him. His creation, His written Word and ultimately sending his one and only son to die in our place. The world is without excuse. All one has to do is look around and see God beckoning us to Himself; my hope is that everyone will respond to Him.

Absolutely fantastic read...will make you think! This book is fantastic, more people need to read this. I got this for my son, who is in a very bad place, this book helped him, and continues to do so even in the hardest part of his life. This book has helped restore his faith in more than just the Lord.

From The Divine Chase:

“God is passionately pursuing you. There is a notion in our world that we must find God, that it is on our shoulders to search for a hidden God. If God had not or does not reveal himself, we would not even know that there is a God. He is self-revealing and on a mission to provoke a response in us…

God’s pursuit of us takes place on his dance floor, his universe, his masterpiece. His pursuit unfolds throughout history on our battlefields, in our crucibles, and through our worst trials. He brings the scars of his crucible―the cross―into our crucibles and rescues us. In responding to our pursuing God we find our greatest healing.”

―From the Introduction

“It is a radical thing God does in pursuing us, and if we are not careful, we will live our entire life and miss the dance altogether…his creation is lesson one, which points us to other lessons―his written Word of Scripture, and the greatest part of the dance floor, Christ, for he extends his hand to us from the cross.”

―From the Preface
